Ambiguous Body

Her current body of work highlights the feminine form. These ideas are based on key elements such as body dysmorphia, beauty standards, skin, folds, excessiveness, bulges, texture, and flesh. Through her work, she explores how these subjects relate to one another, making connections between them and producing pieces that question expression in today's culture and how can we change our views on our bodies. What makes us view our bodies in that way? Why so critical?
Priya's work focuses on themes of body confidence and acceptance, with the goal of highlighting real problems and sensitivity that we have with our bodies, but she tries to celebrate and liberate them rather than hide them. The way the naked body has been portrayed in society and via art has always captivated her interest, and it has been a key motif in her work. Empowerment and the beauty of the human body in all its varieties are at the heart of her project.

With a fascination for the human figure, human anatomy, awareness, showing the body as extreme, and the impact this has on people's development and looks. Priya's work strives to raise awareness about the consequences of our actions by highlighting the massive amounts of harm and permanent damage it causes to people of all ages. A thought-provoking collection of works that invite the viewer to consider their position in the world as well as the identity they build for themselves.
Her work consists of a variety of different media such as painting, collage, photography and recently sculpture.

"My work explores the concepts of beauty and ugliness and the traditions that shape our perceptions of either. I'm fascinated by how we view things and how we interpret them. Unrealistic beliefs and 'beauty' standards are all around us, programming us to feel unhappy and insufficient. This deception is both harmful and destructive. I'd like to break this myth and show you your true beauty, which isn't enhanced by makeup or filters."
